Land Girls is the latest and most talked about HD Drama for the BBC this year. Based on the true story of the Women’s Land Army, most commonly known as the "Land Girls", who stepped into help with the nations agricultural effort during the Second World War whilst the men sent went off to war.
During it’s daily showing as part of BBC One day time commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War it achieved some impressive ratings for the time slot, beating the regular slot holder "The Weakest Link".
